Park-sleep-fly (sometimes "park, sleep, and fly" or "PSF") is a way of structuring an airport trip rather than a specific product you buy. The pattern is: drive to a hotel near the departure airport the day before your flight, leave your car in the hotel's lot for the duration of the trip, take the hotel's complimentary shuttle to the airport in the morning, and use the same shuttle to return when you land.
The Three Components
- Park: leave your car at the hotel for as many nights as your trip. Most park-sleep-fly hotels include parking for the duration at no extra charge.
- Sleep: stay one (or sometimes two) nights at the hotel before / after your flight.
- Fly: take the hotel's shuttle to the airport. Most run free, every 15-30 minutes, often 24/7.
Why People Do It
Three common motivations:
- Cost: for multi-day trips at airports with expensive long-term parking, the math can favor the hotel-and-parking bundle once you account for one night of accommodation included.
- Convenience for early flights: 5am departures are much easier when you slept 10 minutes from the airport vs. 90 minutes away.
- Vehicle protection: many hotel lots are gated, monitored, and well-lit — comparable to airport garage parking but at a lower cost on long trips.
What It Is NOT
- It is not a discount package sold by airlines or a "rate plan" you book through the airline.
- It's not a guarantee of free shuttle service — that varies by property.
- It's not always cheaper than airport long-term parking. On short trips, the airport's lot often wins.
How To Book One
Most airport hotels can be booked the same way you book any other hotel — through a hotel booking partner (Booking.com, Hotels.com, etc.). The key search filter is "free parking" + "airport shuttle." Confirm parking is included for the duration of your trip (not just the night of your stay) before you book.
