Getting around ORD
Four passenger terminals — 1, 2, 3 and 5; there is no passenger Terminal 4. Terminals 1, 2 and 3 connect post-security by pedestrian walkway, but Terminal 5 has no secure-side connection and requires the Airport Transit System people mover. Terminal 5 was recently expanded with 25% more gate capacity.

All hotel and off-airport parking shuttle pickups have moved from the old Bus/Shuttle Center to the Terminal 2 Arrivals curbside; some also serve Terminal 5. The Airport Transit System people mover runs 24 hours every 5–10 minutes and serves Economy Lots F, G and H via the Multi-Modal Facility.
This is the detail most travelers get wrong. Confirm the pickup point with your hotel when you book — shuttle stops move during construction, and at several airports they are not at the arrivals curb at all.

Airport-area hotels near ORD are concentrated in Rosemont, IL, On-airport (Hilton Chicago O'Hare, Terminal 2 campus). Staying inside one of these clusters is usually what makes a free shuttle and included parking possible in the first place.
