Getting around MDW
A single main terminal with an attached Main Terminal Garage — Level 1 is hourly parking, Levels 2–6 daily. Ground transportation is organized by Lower Level lanes (inner/center/outer) and numbered terminal doors 1–6, with a Departures/Ticketing level above.
Where hotel shuttles pick up at MDW
Unusually, MDW hotel shuttles do NOT use the arrivals curb — the airport's ground-transportation table lists hotel shuttle pickup and drop-off on the DEPARTURE/Ticketing Level at Door 2. Off-site parking shuttles and charter buses use the Lower Level through the parking garage at Doors 5 and 6; MDW's own economy parking shuttles use the Lower Level Inner Lane at Door 4. Economy shuttles run every 10–15 minutes.
This is the detail most travelers get wrong. Confirm the pickup point with your hotel when you book — shuttle stops move during construction, and at several airports they are not at the arrivals curb at all.
Worth knowing at MDW: Hotel shuttles at Midway board upstairs on the Departures level, not at baggage claim — the opposite of most airports, and easy to get wrong with luggage. Note also that the Daily Lot at 55th & Kilpatrick is temporarily closed, leaving the Economy Garage and Economy Lot as the realistic long-stay options.
