Where hotel shuttles pick up at MSY
Courtesy shuttles for hotels, motels and off-airport parking board at the Ground Transportation Center outside Level 1 Baggage Claim Doors 1 through 5. Rental car and Economy Garage shuttles use a different pickup entirely: outside Level 1 Baggage Claim Door 9, at the far curb near the Long-Term Parking Garage.
This is the detail most travelers get wrong. Confirm the pickup point with your hotel when you book — shuttle stops move during construction, and at several airports they are not at the arrivals curb at all.
Worth knowing at MSY: MSY's single consolidated security checkpoint opens at 3:30 a.m. and closes 30 minutes before the last scheduled departure — there is no round-the-clock screening, so a pre-3:30 a.m. arrival buys you nothing. The Economy Garage is also credit-card-only, no cash.
