Getting around PIT
The new pre-security Landside Terminal (811,000 sq ft, opened 2025) holds ticketing on Level 3, the transit level on Level 2, a single consolidated 12-lane security checkpoint, and eight baggage claim carousels. The Skybridge carries passengers from security to the existing Airside Terminal's gates — only one level change from departure curb to gates.
Where hotel shuttles pick up at PIT
Only the Extended lot has shuttle service, delivering to the ticketing level (3rd floor); it also doubles as the cell phone lot and its first hour is free. Long Term and Economy lots have NO shuttle at all — Long Term uses a moving walkway and Economy is about a 10-minute walk. The Short Term garage has direct access to the transit level (2nd floor).
This is the detail most travelers get wrong. Confirm the pickup point with your hotel when you book — shuttle stops move during construction, and at several airports they are not at the arrivals curb at all.
Worth knowing at PIT: The underground tram is gone: PIT's People Mover was decommissioned when the new terminal opened in 2025 and replaced by the walkable Skybridge, cutting curbside-to-airside time by roughly half per the airport's own fact sheet. Note that Economy has no shuttle — budget a 10-minute walk with bags.
