Getting around TPA
A landside Main Terminal connected to airside concourses A, C, E and F by automated people-mover shuttles (a further Airside D is under construction). A separate SkyConnect train links the Main Terminal to Economy Parking and the Rental Car Center.
Where hotel shuttles pick up at TPA
Chartered buses and HOTEL buses pick up and drop off in the four ground-transportation quad lots — Blue 1, Blue 2, Red 1 and Red 2 — on Level 1 of the Main Terminal. The Departure Level's west crossover drives are closed to buses, so a hotel shuttle will never meet you upstairs at ticketing. From Economy Parking, reach the SkyConnect station via the Level 1 elevators.
This is the detail most travelers get wrong. Confirm the pickup point with your hotel when you book — shuttle stops move during construction, and at several airports they are not at the arrivals curb at all.
Worth knowing at TPA: SkyConnect — the only link between Economy Parking and the Main Terminal — drops to reduced frequency nightly between 12:30 a.m. and 4:30 a.m. for maintenance, with roughly 10-minute waits. Budget for it on pre-dawn departures out of Economy.
